How much does it cost to hire?
Costs for hiring a wedding gown range from $350 to $500.
Costs for hiring a special occassion gown range from $80 to $150.
DO I HAVE TO PAY A BOND?
Yes. A bond of $350 is charged on all bridal gowns, and a bond of $75 is charged on all special occasion gowns. The bond will be refunded to the hirer once the gown is returned to Rock That Frock within the required timeframe and in an acceptable condition
(eg no heavy staining or excessive damage).
Do I have to clean the dress?
Professional cleaning is included in every new hire.
However, should your gown suffer from damage or become excessively dirty or stained during your hire period, the cost of any additional specialist cleaning or repairs will be deducted from your bond, and/or any charges to replace the gown (in the unlikely event of the gown being beyond repair) will become payable should this exceed your bond.
do i get a contract?
Every new hire comes with an easy-to-follow contract and a copy of photos showing the gown’s condition on the day of pick up. These photos will be referred to should there be any issues with the condition of the gown upon its return and serve to protect both parties in case of any discrepancies.
does it cost to try on dresses?
There is a one-off appointment fee for all private fittings & stylist consultations.
This fee is deducted from the cost of your hire should make a booking.
Bridal Gown Private Viewing & Styling Appointment:
$50 (up to 75 minutes duration)
Formal Gown Private Viewing & Styling Appointment:
$30 (up to 20 minutes duration)
how long can i keep the dress for?
Your gown will be made available for you to collect the day prior to your event, and is required to be returned within 3 days unless by prior arrangement.
can i come see the dresses any time?
No, Rock That Frock works on an appointment-only basis, so that we can guarantee your privacy and that you recieve our full attention during your visit.
Unfortunately walk-ins are not accepted - please contact us to book a time to view.
where are you located?
Our boutique is located at our residence on the outskirts of Mosgiel in an exclusive private studio.
Once you have booked & paid for an appointment, our address will automatically be provided to you.
can i bring friends & Family with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring close friends or family along with you if you wish.
However, only the person booked in for the fitting appointment will be able to try on our gowns, and we find that often too many opinions can cause stress or uncertainty. Therefore, we generally recommend only bringing along one or two trusted people with you, and we are only able to provide limited seating in our viewing area. Please note also that, respectfully, we are a child-free studio.
what should i wear to my appointment?
Please come to your fitting consultation both makeup and perfume free.
Wear any underwear you believe suitable, including any shapewear if you wish.
Bring your special ocassion shoes with you if you have them, or alternatively another pair with a similar heel height if possible.
Please remove any jewellery prior to your visit so as to avoid any risk of dress damage.
